Of course, iPad is a more complex device. It's a high-end multipurpose gadget. But still if I needed just an e-reader -- I would choose Kindle for its e-ink screen which is much better for reading. On the other hand, the fact is that in the modern world hardly does anyone need just a simple dedicated e-reader when there is a variety of multipurpose devices. So maybe the main reason to choose Kindle is its low price -- if you need just an e-reader why would you overpay for the unneeded functions? I fully agree with all these points.
